Hunan Er-kang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., founded in 2003, is the largest and most comprehensive pharmaceutical excipient company in China, boasting the widest range of products and the most advanced technology (Stock Code: SZ.300267). It is a leading enterprise in the high-tech sector and a pioneer in the pharmaceutical excipient industry, being the primary architect of China’s pharmaceutical excipient standards and the first to industrialize starch capsules. The company currently offers 127 types of pharmaceutical excipients, 73 active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), and has 282 approvals for finished drug products. Among these, the starch-based plant capsule is a core product with global exclusive intellectual property rights, holding over 90 patents. The company’s products are exported to nearly 40 countries and regions worldwide. ER-KANG

In 2013, to further its internationalization strategy, Hunan Erkang (Cambodia) Investment Co., Ltd. established an industrial park, underpinned by the principles of ‘Innovation, Efficiency, and Environmental Protection’. With a cumulative investment of 2 billion yuan and spanning 2,000 acres, the park employs nearly 1,000 Cambodian-Chinese staff. Phoenix Industries, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Erkang, is located within the park. With over 300 Cambodian-Chinese employees, Phoenix Industries operates several state-of-the-art production workshops, boasting an annual capacity of 11,000 tons of caffeine, 1,000 tons of folic acid, and 30,000 tons of sodium citrate.

Looking ahead, Erkang Pharmaceutical will remain steadfast in its commitment to the pharmaceutical industry, focusing on the safety of drugs and food. In October 2003，Erkang Pharmaceutical's journey began with its registration.
2005
In 2005, the company's R&D department was officially established.
2006
In 2006，following the 'Qi Er Yao Incident', the company entered a period of rapid growth.
2008
In 2008, it was recognized as a High-Tech Enterprise in Hunan Province.
2011
On September 27, 2011, Erkang Pharmaceutical was listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.
2012
In 2012, the company was successfully included in the National Torch Program Key High-Tech Enterprises. The 'National Pharmaceutical Excipient Engineering Technology Research Center' project received approval from the Ministry of Science and Technology, establishing the first national-level research platform.
2013
In 2013, the company passed the certification for the new national GMP standards (2010 edition) and successfully developed starch-based capsules and soft capsules, a world-first innovation, offering a new solution for drug and health product safety.
2014
In 2014, the company achieved the industrialization of starch-based capsules and soft capsules. The same year, it established Wankang Biochemical Co., Ltd. in Cambodia.
2015
In 2015, the company's Pharmaceutical Excipient Engineering Technology Center passed the CNAS-CL01 Testing Laboratory and CNAS-CL04 Standard Substance/Standard Sample Producer's on-site evaluation in one go. The company's Technical Center was recognized as the 22nd 'National Recognized Enterprise Technical Center' by the National Development and Reform Commission.
2016
In 2016, Erkang Pharmaceutical received honors as one of the 'Most Influential 20 in China's Pharmaceutical Industry' and 'Top 100 Listed Companies Golden Bull Award' for 2015.
2017
In 2017, the 'Research and Development of Plant Starch Capsules and Industrialization' project won the first prize of the Hunan Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award. The same year, the company was designated as a 'Chinese Foreign Aid Training Practice Base' by the Hunan Provincial Department of Commerce.
2018
In 2018, the 'National Pharmaceutical Excipient Engineering Technology Research Center' constructed by Erkang Pharmaceutical passed the acceptance inspection by the National Ministry of Science and Technology.
2019
In 2019, the company was included in the 'Xinhua News Agency National Brand Project'. The same year, the Hunan Erkang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. Science and Technology Association was officially founded, marking a new step in the company's scientific research progress.
2020
In 2020, the National Pharmaceutical Excipient Engineering Technology Research Center, built by Erkang Pharmaceutical, became one of the 14 'Variety Guardians' for pharmaceutical excipients.
2022
